A Brand New Season at Déda

Déda is pleased to announce a jam-packed new season full of inspiring performances from professional companies alongside a whole host of new classes to get everyone in your family dancing

Déda’s regular adult class programme continues with classes such as Zumba, Salsa and Yoga remaining hugely popular. Meanwhile, the Déda|Academy continues to expand with a whole host of brand new technique classes on a Saturday, and Reactor a new urban performance company for young people aged 13-19 to work towards performance opportunities both locally and nationally.

As always, Déda’s performance programme presents the best theatre for younger audiences. Following last year’s sell out success, Tall Stories return with new show The Snow Dragon, and the hilarious John Hegley returns with his magical show Animal Alphaboat. In the run up to Christmas, 3D Derby Deaf Drama returns for the fifth year to present their annual show. Take time out from the Christmas shopping to make sure you enjoy A Christmas Carol, and find out if Scrooge will ever get some seasonal cheer.

Déda’s performance programme kicks off with Tavaziva Dance, performing their latest work Double Take, a courageous double bill surveying the impact of black dance. ACE Dance and Music perform their brand new show ICE in October. With amazing tricks and drawing on martial arts and Japanese culture, the show promises to be a highlight of the season.

We also hope you will join us for Derby Festé, the huge outdoor spectacular returning to the streets of Derby on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September. Highlights include the incredible Sarruga, transforming the streets into an underwater wonderland! Déda will also present an outdoor Salsa Party with Absolute Salsa on the market place. Déda Youth Performance Company Liquid will join forces with skaters to present Torch, an outdoor performance against the stunning back drop of Walk The Plank’s Fire Garden.
