Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion at Déda this Friday

Join acclaimed choreographer Jonathan Burrows for an evening of performance and discussion

On Friday 16 September, Déda hosts a unique opportunity to see award-winning choreographer Jonathan Burrows and composer Matteo Fargion’s new work accompanied by an evening of discussion.

Counting to 100 will be shown as part of Edge, a brand new evening presenting the best in innovative young artists from across the region.

Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion have been collaborating since 2002 and have performed their idiosyncratic duets throughout the world, presenting dance and music in completely unexpected ways.

Receiving rave reviews for their musical invention, critical insight and humour, at Déda they will present an evening of performance and discussion around their work, showcasing new duet Counting to 100.

This event is ideal for anyone curious about how a performance is made, what can go wrong and why some things work for an audience.

This is a unique opportunity to preview a brand new piece of work from choreographic heavyweights and to discuss it with the artists themselves; a real must-see for contemporary dance fans.

'There are few performers who can hold an audience captive like this double act… the timing of every note, shrug, laugh and gesture is awesome. Five stars.' The Guardian, London, on Cheap Lecture and The Cow Piece

Prior to the performance in the theatre, Edge will bring the building to life with a diverse range of performance and live art crossing art forms and practices.

Drop in from 7pm and see new work in the early stages of development or catch a rising young talent.

Tickets for the whole evening – including Counting to 100 and Edge – are £5 and available online at or from the Déda Box Office on 01332 370911. Advanced booking is advised.
