Be one of the first to get Street Fit with another season of classes and performances at Déda

Déda is pleased to announce a new season of classes and performances to keep you moving over the Autumn months and get you feeling fit and healthy in time for Christmas.

We launch the brand new Street Fit® class, and are one of the first places to launch this brand new fitness sensation in the city. Based around the phenomenon of Street Dance, the class combines edgy dance moves with intense fat-burning activity. Each section of the class targets a different area of the body so you will leave the class feeling funky and energised after a full-body workout.

We have also introduced Ballet Kids, a fun class which offers wannabe prima-ballerinas (aged 4-7) an early start in this beautiful dance style – with no expensive shoes or outfits required.

Performance highlights include rising star Aakash Odedra. Representing a new generation of the finest dancers, Aakash presents four short solos choreographed by internationally renowned dance heavyweights such as Akram Khan, Russell Maliphant and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Hilarious duo New Art Club also return to the Déda stage in October with their unique blend of contemporary dance and comedy. Quiet Act of Destruction is a laugh out loud re-telling of a true story of a conflict between two rival villages over the name of the local train station. Featuring beat box, and some more unusual audience participation, this is a show which is not to be missed.

Déda have also joined forces with Derby Theatre to present Arthur Pita’s God’s Garden in September. Set in a tiny village in Portugal with live Fado music, the show tells the tale of the prodigal son. After jilting his bride-to-be, the prodigal son disappears to live a party lifestyle; upon his return he is welcomed back by his family - but a wronged woman waits to wreak her revenge. Featuring a cast aged from 25-80, this accessible piece of dance is a perfect show for dance lovers and first time dance attenders.
