UK Young Artists launch event promises to be a great weekend!

UK Young Artists Leicester Festival 2014 held a welcome launch event last night at Leicester's popular Y Theatre. With speeches from creative bodies, delicious canapés and live performance, UK Young Artists Leicester Festival promises to be a weekend filled with surprise, culture and excitement.

The Y Theatre was buzzing last night with the sounds of artists, creative officials and volunteers. With speeches from the board of UKYA, Arts Council England and De Montfort University to a ten minute performance from tabla player Gurdain Singh Rayatt and a story about a duck and an elephant from spoken word artist Jo Kelen, the atmosphere was both warming and cheerful. To add to the flowing creativity, guests were invited to a special preview at Two Queens Gallery to get a sneak peak of what was to come over the weekend of UKYA Leicester Festival - and it's not to be missed!!

Gurdain Singh Rayatt will be playing at Embrace Arts Fri 7th Nov 6:30 - 7:15pm

Jo Kelen will be performing at New Walk Cafe at 1:00 - 1:30pm on Sat 8th Nov and at Upstairs at The Western at 1:00 - 1:30pm on Sun 9th Nov.
