Leigh Spencer is a Leicester based freelance Graphic Designer, Photographer and Video producer. He currently runs a successful ongoing social media campaign for the Leicester based charity Menphys, merging social media with the charity's more traditional fund-raising methods and creating a brand image for the charity to use across all public facing media.
He has also completed a variety of print and new media based projects for a number of clients these have included work for The Leicester Riders Basketball Team, Menphys (Charity), Leicester Lions RFC, and a variety of promotional projects for special events including social media, logo design, branding, posters, invitations, clothing and other promotional products.

Great Central Railway Mixed Traffic Weekend

To welcome engine 92214 to its permanent residence at the Great Central Railway the heritage line held a 'mixed traffic weekend' featuring various engines running alongside the new acquisition.

My video features the new locomotive as it travels between Loughborough and Rothley before continuing further down the line.

Rood Ashton Hall Through Narborough Station

On a cold, wet and windy Valentines evening in February 2014 the small mainline station of Narborough was visited by steam locomotive Rood Ashton Hall.

My film features the "calm before the storm" on the station before the engine powers through at full speed surrounded by steam and blowing its whistle illuminated only by the yellow glow of the station lights.

Once the engine has passed all is as before with no trace of the engine that has just passed.

Abbey Pumping Station - Meccano Magic

I visited the Abbey Pumping Station for Meccano Magic a celebration of the well known construction toy.

The large hall was packed with many different colourful and intricate models created by enthusiasts from the wide variety of shapes and colours available in the Meccano range.

Many of the designs had been crafted without instructions showing the creativity of their creators.

Pannier Tanks By Night

My film follows two pannier tanks on the evening of December 1st 2013 as they arrive at Melton Mowbray Station to pick up passengers visiting the towns Christmas market before travelling on to Narborough Station lit only by the yellow glow of the station lights they make for an impressive sight as they thunder along the tracks.
